About Youssouf Kone

After two attempts to join the first class of the Academy between 2009 and 2010, Youssouf Koné was finally selected to complete class 1, which had about fifteen players, notably after a last try at the Ghana Academy where JMG had gone as part of its regular tours to supervise the various JMG academies existing at the time throughout the world. Youssouf is in Ghana with Cheick Oumar DOUCOURE and both on occasion are validated by coach Jean-Marc for Bamako, the second one called to join the promotion 2, younger in age and recruited a few months earlier.
The technical mastery exercises for which the other players had much more ease will be a difficult task for the left-handed player, which especially brought to the group his physical power and his great fighting spirit. It is undoubtedly this small difficulty encountered in the technical exercise workshops that will push him a little less than two years later to leave the Academy in May 2012 to make himself available to a player agent who will make him proposals to leave for Europe, not without having participated with Mali in a U20 world cup in 2012.
If Youssouf Koné remains a promising left-back with Lille but who is slow to explode definitively, no doubt that with a longer stay in the walls of the Blue House to refine his difficult technical ranges, he would probably win much more quickly today. But daily work and time could probably lead him there. And the LOSC Lille, where he has been for a few years (Ligue 1 France), offers him a great opportunity to do so.
