About Boka “Adjédou”
The left-back, well known for his career, was a lively, hard-hitting striker with a heavy shot.
Certainly a little irregular in his performances in this position and yet he scored a lot of goals, to the point or for a while, he had almost become a goalkeeper! to the great displeasure of his father who worried, not understanding, regularly tried to get explanations from the coaches.
JMG had a hollow nose to push him back to the left rear side post, with all the success that followed. When JMG had considered and proposed to the ASEC leaders to let go some of the players from the class 1 solicited by European clubs by replacing them with their younger brothers from the class 2, while he was trying to explain the accuracy of this to some of his friends and colleagues, Boka’s father had been amused by the ASEC supporters’ committee in Port-Bouet (a district of Abidjan, of which he was an important member) that if, and I quote: “JMG believed so much in this promotion (which did not seem good enough for the status and prestige of ASEC), he could rather put them in his own team.
Shortly afterwards, the separation of JMG from ASEC, Toumodi FC (club created by the JMG Abidjan Academy) welcomed almost all promotions 2 and 3. With the results we know….
