Moussa Doumbia, a 27-year-old international from Mali, has signed a three-year contract with FCSM after passing a medical. The striker was at the end of his contract with Stade de Reims.
Moussa Doumbia was born on 15 August 1994. He grew up in Mali and was trained at the renowned Jean-Marc Guillou Academy in the Malian capital. Moussa Doumbia then joined AS Real Bamako, with whom he played a leading role in the Malian first division and competed in the African Champions League.
His performances earned him a move to Russia in July 2014. With FK Rostov, the versatile striker finished second in the league and played four Champions League group matches in 2016 against Bayern Munich, PSV Eindhoven and Atletico Madrid.
Moussa Doumbia‘s career then went on loan to Arsenal Tula, also in Russia, in the first part of 2017 (14 matches) before returning to Rostov for a season.
After 80 matches in the Russian top flight and 7 matches in European cups, Moussa Doumbia signed in the summer of 2018 with Stade de Reims, who had just returned to Ligue 1. Scorer after two minutes of play in his first match, the right-hander shows his percussion and his vivacity on his feet thanks to his size (1m73 for 68 kg). He played 89 matches in the top flight with the Champenois club, scoring 6 goals and providing 3 assists before leaving Stade de Reims at the end of his contract this summer.
Moussa Doumbia has been a Mali international since June 2014, when he was only 19 years old. He has 37 caps (5 goals) and has played in three African Cup of Nations tournaments, including two assists in the last edition.
