In an interview with the official website of Stade Rennais, Hamari Traoré spoke about his captaincy.
“Armband or no armband, I am myself. I have this leader side in me. I bring my enthusiasm and my mentality to the group. I am captain of Stade Rennais F.C. and with Mali, that means I am someone who also transmits joy and positivity. I try to reach out to those who are in difficulty. That’s the way I am, that’s the way I was raised. The armband is not the most important thing, it’s what I bring to the group that counts. You don’t need to have the armband to be captain,” explained the Mali international defender.
“Since I arrived at Rennes, the club is growing and I am growing with it. I am delighted. I hope that with the young and old, we will all give ourselves the means. The club is moving forward and it must become one of the best French clubs, that is the objective.”
