Moroccan midfielder Ahmed El Messaoudi of Eredivisie side FC Groningen is set to leave the Netherlands next season. His club has finally given him permission to leave this season. Gaziantepspor are interested in the player and are reportedly preparing a move for him.
On 7 September 2021, Gaziantep Football Club reached an agreement with Ahmed El Messaoudi. He signed an official contract that will bind him to the club for three years.

Born on 3 August 1995 in Brussels, Belgium, Ahmed started playing football at the JMG Academy in Lierse. Ahmed El Messaoudi, of Moroccan origin, has managed to make a name for himself thanks to his great physical strength while being able to play in any position in midfield. He has played for Lierse, Standard Liege, Mechelen, Fortuna Sittard and finally Groningen and has also played once for the Moroccan national team. Ahmed played 199 official matches during his career, scoring 19 goals and providing 14 assists.
