The Red Devil Jason Denayer was operated this week in Belgium on the external meniscus of the left knee. Bruno Genesio, Lyon’s coach, announced the news at a press conference on Thursday.
The 23-year-old central defender, who has had an excellent first season at Lyon, was injured in the match against Dijon on 6 April. It will be operational for the resumption of training in July.
As a result of this injury, Denayer will also miss the next qualifying matches for the Euro 2020 Red Devils against Kazakhstan (June 8) and Scotland (June 11).
