Habib Keita is packing his bags. The young OL hopeful has been loaned out to KV Kortrijk for a season without an option to buy.
Last season, he played only six minutes in Ligue 1 after making his pro debut in 2020-2021 for five minutes against Lorient. Fortunately for him, Habib Keita was able to count on the Europa League and OL’s flawless run to earn two starts against Brondby and Glasgow Rangers, the eventual finalists in the competition. But at 20 years old, the midfielder needs to play and not only in National 2. The Malian academician has therefore been loaned out.
This Saturday, OL announced the departure of Keita to the Belgian club KV Kortrijk for a season without an option to buy. The midfielder arrived at OL in October 2020 from the JMG academy in Bamako and is under contract until 2025 with the seven-time French champions. But with the summer arrival of Johann Lepenant, the competition in the midfield looked even fiercer and Habib Keita now has a year to prove his talent at the top level.
