Jocelyn Gourvennec has not used the midfielder at LOSC since the start of the season, and Cheikh Niasse has told his managers that he wants to leave Lille during the winter transfer window. This situation has put many European teams on alert. Indeed, Vitesse, Brest, NEC, Sheffield United, Freiburg and Panathinaikos are interested.
According to La Voix du Nord, Anderlecht are also interested in Cheikh Niasse. The Belgian club, who are fourth in the Jupiler Pro League, would like to add more density to their midfield, particularly in the number 6 position. Niasse’s profile would therefore interest Anderlecht, but also Dutch clubs such as NEC Nijmegen, Groningen and Vitesse Arnhem.
French clubs such as Brest and Lorient would like a loan, which Lille will only accept if the player extends his contract, which does not seem to be the trend.
The 21-year-old is under contract at LOSC until 2023, and a few weeks ago the club’s management set a price for the player’s release: €2m + 25% of the capital gain on a possible resale.
