Theo Bongonda has missed the last three league games of Racing Genk. However, he could make a comeback.
According to Nieuwsblad, Theo Bongonda could make a comeback this week and join the Racing Genk squad for the Europa League match against Dinamo Zagreb. The 25-year-old winger has missed three consecutive league games with a ligament injury, but an ultrasound scan on Monday should theoretically give him the green light to return to the squad.
Genk will host Zagreb on Thursday after winning their first Europa League match away to Rapid Vienna (0-1).
In addition to the disappointing result (1-1), the OL had a real hecatomb during the match against Lorient. It was the first time that a player had to be replaced in the team’s starting line-up, with Jason Denayer, Jerome Boateng and Islam Slimani each being replaced due to a physical problem. The German’s ankle sprain does not appear to be serious, but his two partners are facing more serious muscular problems. The team said on Sunday that they should not play for Lyon before the international break. This is all the more bad news for Peter Bosz, who is already missing Moussa Dembélé, Tino Kadewere, Malo Gusto and Jeff Reine-Adelaide. The next games against Brondby (Europa League) and ASSE (Ligue 1) look dangerous.
