The winger from Ghent is full of confidence after scoring a beautiful free-kick against Kortrijk. With eleven goals since the beginning of the season, he is experiencing one of the best periods of his career.

Theo Bongonda is close to the record set during his time at Zulte Waregem. In the 2018-2019 season, the winger scored fourteen goals, almost half of them in Play-Offs 2. With eleven goals so far this season, Bongonda is on track to do better.

“I’m at eleven goals? That’s not enough!” the 25-year-old said after the game. “I want to beat my record and I still have time for that. I’m happy that my goals bring points to the team. I am not a free-kick specialist but I know I have a good shot and I took my chance.
