AC Paradou striker Zakaria Naidji was named the top scorer of the 2018-2019 Ligue 1 Mobilis season. The Algerian neo-international, who honoured his first selection in March against Gambia, scored 20 goals and 5 assists in 30 games this season to finish well ahead of his rivals in the scoring charts.
Naidji, who turned 24 in January, is only the tenth player in the history of the league to have crossed the 20 goals mark in a single season. He joins a list that contains great names such as Hacène Lalmas, Rabah Gamouh and Mokrane Baïleche.
Naidji is also the first player in the league to have scored 20 goals in 24 years, the 1994-1995 season, when Tarek Hadj Adlane scored 23 for JS Kabylie.
Bordj Bou Arréridj’s native, who scored 31 goals in 52 matches in two seasons in Ligue 1 Mobilis, could leave his training club for Europe this summer after a remarkable season, following in the footsteps of his former team-mates Ramy Bensebaini and Youcef Atal or Farid El Melali.
