Medhi Lehaire has joined FC Utrecht. The Domstedelingen have taken over the 18-year-old striker, trained at the JMG academy in Lierse, who still had a contract until 2019 with the club Lierse SK.
He signed a contract for two seasons, with an option for one season. Lehaire will initially play for Jong FC Utrecht.
The young academician entered twice this season with team 1 Lierse, in the qualifying matches lost in the Jupiler Pro League against the Standart de Liège and KV Kortrijk.
“Medhi is a real midfield connection player, he has a good technique, and an excellent tactical overview. Despite his young age, Medhi has already gained experience at the highest level in Belgium. He is an asset for Young FC Utrecht,” said club sports director Jordy Zuidam.
